Ilyas is an investment banker turned real estate developer with over 20 years of experience in property development. He is the founder and Chairman of Malik Developments, a privately-held real estate development firm he founded in 1998.
Since then, Ilyas has developed, owned, and managed more than 5 million square feet of office, residential, hotel, and retail properties across the Sultanate of Oman and Toronto, Canada. He currently oversees Malik Developments’ property portfolio of $50 million (2018), which is due to be developed over the next five years. A commitment to ‘building a better Muscat,’ and a natural ability to identify emerging trends has made him one of the most trusted and influential names in Oman’s real estate market.
Ilyas started out his real estate career in the early 2000s. Together with a syndicate of investors, Ilyas was able to make a name for himself in the residential housing market of Ontario’s Milton, Mississauga and Waterloo suburbs as well as Lahore’s Defense Raya Golf Course Community. Ilyas’s attention to detail and commitment to creating quality living environments distinguished him within the marketplace and laid the groundwork for future projects.
In 2009, Ilyas partnered with Muscat Hills Group as an advisor and development partner to His Highness Sayyid Kais Al Said, owner of Muscat Hills Golf & Country Club – Oman’s first PGA certified, 18-hole golf course master development. Together, the two developed phase 2 of Muscat Hills which included the successful design, development and handover of 80 luxury villas and townhouses set over a span of 2 million square feet of pristine green golf course space.
In 2014, together with His Highness Sayyid Al Rawy Kais Al Said, Ilyas founded Muscat Hills international Development (MHID). As Deputy CEO to the Group, Ilyas currently oversees 3 million square feet of residential, commercial and mixed-use development including: The Boulevard (Oman’s premium outdoor pedestrian only space), The Business Tower (Oman’s first freehold office property), Radisson at Muscat Hills (171-upscale Radisson branded hotel apartments), and InterContinental at Muscat Hills (Oman’s largest InterContinental Resort boating 250 rooms).
Prior to his development career in Oman, Ilyas was Managing Partner of Falcom Financial Services, Riyadh – a full-fledged Saudi investment bank with superior expertise in investment banking, private equity, asset management, brokerage and financial research. During his tenure at Falcom, Ilyas oversaw the masterplan development of an 18 SQKM commercial and industrial park located in the south of Riyadh. He was also an instrumental force in helping the Company acquire a license from the Capital Market Authority (CMA) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a paid-up capital of one billion Saudi Riyals. Ilyas later served as CEO of Falcom Financial Services, Oman.
Ilyas is a Certified Public Accountant from the Oregon Board of Accountancy. He also holds a Masters in Finance from Karachi’s Institute of Business Administration. Ilyas contributes his free time and resources to organizations that are dedicated to higher education and medical research, meeting humanitarian needs and supporting the arts. He is an avid cricket fan and a dedicated Torontonian.
Hassan is a real-estate developer, investor and material sourcer based across Muscat, Oman and Toronto, Canada. Hassan started his real estate development portfolio in the Sultanate of Oman with his senior partners – HH Rawy Al Said and Muscat Hills International Development (MHID).
His first development project was The Boulevard Plaza – A multi story car park complex with the capacity of hosting 1000 cars.
In 2016, Hassan founded RISH: The Sultanate’s go-to brand for aesthetically pleasing, durable and high-quality kitchens, appliances, vanities, doors, wardrobes and other living solutions. Some of RISH’s leading brands include Scavolini, Miele and Franke. In recent years, Hassan has incorporated some of the world’s most prominent furnishing brands into RISH’s portfolio and actively works in to integrating those brands into his real-estate projects.
Prior to Malik Developments and RISH, Hassan worked in merchant investment management and corporate law. He received his Bachelors in Finance & Economics from the University of Toronto, St. George (UofT).
Leena is in charge of Malik Developments’ daily operations in Toronto, ensuring that cross-function teams are working closely to deliver dream homes and thriving communities. Together with her local and international partners, Leena manages the acquisition, development, rezoning, servicing, and sale of residential and commercial land throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Leena is also heavily involved with the company’s quality control and timely development, leading on the property transfer of projects, ranging from luxury bespoke mansions to upcoming condominiums. She is currently spearheading a new set of initiatives that aim to grow the accumulative land bank of the company and set the course of development for the next 5 years.
Since 2016, Leena has also been active in sourcing a variety of home finishing materials and brands from Europe and integrating them in to her developments. In 2019, Leena formed Le Domus – the current sole distributor of Berloni Italian kitchens in Ontario, Canada.
Prior to Malik Developments, Leena worked in corporate law across Toronto and Oman. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto, St. George (UofT).
